How the supply was allocated
About 37.5 billion XDC were created at genesis. According to XDC's MiCA white paper, they were split as follows (MiCA white paper):
- Team: 15 billion (40%)
- Ecosystem: 10 billion (27%)
- Pre-placement: 10 billion (27%)
- Contingency: about 2.5 billion (6%)
The white paper reports that in August 2025, 21.48 billion XDC were locked out of a total of 38.11 billion, leaving 16.63 billion in circulation. Masternode rewards have added to the total since genesis. Live figures are above and on our supply page.
XDC top holders: the largest addresses
You can see every address ranked by balance on the explorers: XDCScan top accounts and xdcscan.io.
- The biggest balances often belong to exchanges (holding coins for many customers), smart contracts such as staking contracts, and project treasuries. A large balance rarely means one person.
- Masternode stakes of 10 million XDC or more are locked in the validator contract.
- Moves by large wallets are not trading signals on their own. Be wary of channels that say otherwise.
