XDC tokenomics and max supply
About 37.5 billion XDC were created at genesis in 2017 by XinFin Fintech Pte. Ltd., the Singapore company behind XDC. There is no maximum supply: masternode rewards add new XDC over time, and the fee burn removes some. Source: XDC MiCA white paper.
The 37.5 billion genesis XDC were split into four groups:
- Founders and team: 40% (15 billion XDC), unlocking at up to 3% a year.
- Ecosystem development: 27% (10 billion XDC), released at up to 2.5% a year.
- Pre-placement: 27% (10 billion XDC), sold to early investors and exchanges and already in circulation.
- Contingency fund: about 6% (2.5 billion XDC), release schedule not published.
In August 2025 the white paper put total supply at 38,109,919,133 XDC, with 21,481,023,351 team-controlled and locked, leaving 16,628,895,782 in circulation. The live figures above come from CoinGecko.

Why XDC circulating supply differs between CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap
CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko treat locked and team-controlled XDC differently, so their circulating supply figures differ by more than a billion XDC. That changes the market cap and rank each site shows. We use CoinGecko and say so next to every number.

No. XDC's supply is uncapped: 37.5 billion XDC were created at genesis, and masternode rewards add new XDC over time, according to the XDC MiCA white paper.
No. XDC has no halving. New XDC comes from masternode rewards paid each epoch, and since January 2026 part of every transaction fee (the base fee) is burned. See the burn tracker.
